Experienced Transport Manager

Responsibilities

  • Directing activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation flows
  • Directing investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints linked with the product delivery
  • Promoting and implementing a comprehensive Transportation Management program including onboarding of new carriers and new capabilities including track & trace and a control tower setup if applicable
  • Ensuring to implement a long term strategy with the carriers including incentives for lower costs and higher quality (bonus/malus)
  • Developing and directing standard templates to run tenders and market scouting in search of innovative solutions
  • Collaborating with staff members to formulate and implement transportationrelated procedures as well as customer service objectives
  • Support to draft, define and implement the strategic plan for the Logistics Network in Europe

Requirements:


  • We are looking for a social, hardworking person who enjoys team working and can also work independently.

Possession of the following skills/aptitudes is preferable:
_

  • At least 5 years experience as a transportation manager in a similar industry or in a transportation provider organization
  • Solid knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Experience working with contracts and transportationrelated government regulations
  • Experience working with transport management systems and warehouse management software
  • Critical thinking skills and knowledge of analytics
  • Knowledge of Italian as a first language, good knowledge of English (at least B2) is required, additional language (French or German) is a plus
  • Optimal knowledge of the office package
  • Operationsfocused attitude
  • Good skills with data management and business case preparation
