Senior WebRTC Engineer (m/w/d)

What we are looking for
We are in search of a highly skilled Senior WebRTC Engineer to join our forward-thinking team. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Communications/Media protocols and standards, especially WebRTC. A strong understanding of just-in-time video/audio packaging, audio and video codecs, and media containers such as webm and mp4 is essential. Familiarity with industry-standard video and audio codecs, especially H265 and AV1, and experience with WebRTC media servers like Janus and Jitsi are crucial. Additionally, a solid grasp of networking concepts and real-time communication principles will set you apart.

Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and maintain WebRTC applications and features, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
● Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, develop, and launch new communication experiences.
● Work closely with audio and video codecs, optimizing for various platforms and devices.
● Implement and manage media servers, ensuring seamless communication and scalability.
● Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in WebRTC and related fields.
Participate in design and code reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and high-quality standards.
Skills and Qualifications
● Strong experience with Communications/Media protocols and standards, especially WebRTC.
● Knowledge about just-in-time video/audio packaging and experience with audio and/or video codecs.
● Proficiency with media containers, especially webm and mp4.
● Understanding of industry-standard video and audio codecs, especially H265 and AV1.
● Experience with WebRTC media servers such as Janus and Jitsi.
● Solid networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP) and understanding of Telephony and real-time communication concepts (SIP, Trunking, ICE, STUN/TURN).
Bonus skills:
● Familiarity with video streaming technologies such as HLS, RTMP, etc.
● Experience with iOS/Android Native development.
● Knowledge of React Native.
