    In our R&D group, we develop hearing solutions and services for hearing impaired people and hearing care professionals in the form of hearing instruments, accessories, web services, mobile applications and PC software.

    In a team of electrical and software engineers, you will contribute to the design, development and the maintenance of software infrastructure and firmware. The development is focused on bare metal abstraction as well as middle layer and infrastructure frameworks to manage a multi-processor embedded hardware system dedicated to signal- and neural-network processing.

    Your work will build the foundation for all Sonova hearing instrument product application development conducted by Sonova teams worldwide. From the concept to the deployment phase, you will be engaged in contributing to highly flexible and reliable software and firmware solutions.

    Your tasks

  • Develop the foundation software layers and frameworks (C/C++) of a heterogeneous multi-processor embedded hardware system
  • Optimize performance, energy consumption and latency throughout the design of the embedded software system
  • Collaborate closely with application layer and development environment software teams
  • Participate in agile software development process, code reviews and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Maintain the developed solutions and support the users thereof
  • Review hardware design documentation, support hardware verification activities
  • Your profile

  • University degree (MSc/BSc) or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science or related technical field
  • 4+ years of experience in the development, deployment, and maintenance of embedded software systems
  • Experience or previous exposure to close-to-metal software development, proficiency in C/C++, Python as a plus
  • Foundational knowledge in Signal- and Neural Network Processing
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and service orientation
  • Fluent in English; German is a plus
