Reporting to the 'LAB & Operator Manager', the R&D Technician/Operator is the reference point for the assembly, commissioning and creation of experimental setups needed for the various R&D phases (proof of concept, testbenches, machine modifications for new developments, etc).


The R&D Technician/Operator should has a deep and multidisciplinary knowledge of our machines (mechanics, fluidics, inkjet and flexo technology, electrical and sensors, etc) and of the commissioning process.

He will work in daily collaboration with the Printer Specialists and System Engineers and will be responsible to provide reliable and on-time solutions required by the Validation Plans.

A proactive attitude and high troubleshooting skills are required to provide technical feedback to the R&D teams.

Mission

  • Provide reliable and ontime solutions for the required machine modifications or experimental setups needed for the various R&D projects
  • Maintain and keep the digital inkjet press operational at all time
  • Perform regular maintenance and keep the machine clean
  • Be able to finetune the press on an operator level, to be able to produce top quality samples
  • Provide technical feedback and troubleshooting
  • Operate the machine and assist the test plan by holding part of the test plan
Key responsibilities

Machines

  • Maintain the presses in every aspect (from cleanliness to fine tuning of printheads)
  • Operate the machine as part of the test / validation plan
Technologies

  • Deep and practical understanding of all technologies and modules involved in our new DM Platform (inkjet, flexo, diecut, multilayer, etc.)
On site

  • Ensure machine readiness (incl. inks, substrates and consumables)
  • Maintain machines to the requirements for an optimum print quality
  • Provide expertise on the commissioning of all modules of the printer
  • Promote the safety and good practices for the activities involving fluids, mechanical parts, electrical activities, etc.
  • Provide technical feedback
