Pedro Álvares

I am a Philosophy graduate with +2 years of teaching experience in language education, including English and Portuguese as a Foreign Language.

As an English to Portuguese CIOL certified translator, I also work occasionally as a reviser and proofreader at Translators Without Borders.

From October 2023 to February 2015 I was a teacher of elementary courses of English and Portuguese language and culture to Spanish speaking adult students at Camões Institute and Babélia SL, in Barcelona, Spain. During this time I also took on the role of examiner of the oral part of the oficial Portuguese language exams CAPLE.

I own a BA degree in Philosophy with a specialization in Ethics from the University of Lisbon.

I am also a TEFL certified English language teacher from Oxbridge Academy and a certified translator from English into Portuguese by the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL).
