Mats Koenen

Young professional with 3 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry, specifically Quality Control. 
Graduated from the IMC FH Krems in Austria, with a MSc in engineering in Medical and Pharmaceutical biotechnology. 
My interest and passion lies in the biotechnological world with a focus on quality management and regulatory affairs.

Fluent in Dutch and English and intermediate in German.

01-Sep-2022: I am currently working at Lonza, Basel as a stability coordinator in the sample management team. Here, I am responsible for the coordination and organisation of all stability samples (GMP and Non-GMP). Additionally, I am responsible for the pulling and staging of samples/studies, transfer, shipments between us and 3rd party clients as well as being a point of contact between the lab and the office.

19-Oct-2020 till 01-Sep-2022: I was working as a Quality control specialist at Hookipa, Austria. My duties and responsibilities included the organisation and administration of around 20 stability studies, ranging from MVS to DP. Besides this, I was responsible for the communication between us and the CRO’s and CLO’s as well as coordinating shipments to different sites. Daily activities also included the writing, planning and organising stability studies and being a point of contact between all the involved parties (EM, RA, QA, manufacturing and formulation). 

I have a MSc in engineering in Medical and Pharmaceutical biotechnology from the IMC FH Krems in Austria. During my studies I had a focus on biotechnological engineering and quality management.

During my studies I had two internships: at MIMETAS in Leiden, the Netherlands and at the DTU in Denmark. 
During both internships I was responsible for the planning and execution of experiments and projects relating to the genetic engineering of fungi with genes producing immunosuppressants and the creation of an analytical test to characterise the effectiveness of the Organoplate.
