Have a Master’s degree in public health (Epidemiology & Population Health, Maseno University, Kenya), BSc. Environmental Health, Kenyatta University, Kenya Higher National Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences (Solid Waste Management) from Kenya Medical Training College and an ordinary Diploma in Environmental Health Sciences from Kenya Medical Training College . Have served as the Secretary to the Tobacco Control Board, Kenya, the regulatory board for tobacco and tobacco products and lead team leader in the formulation of and implementation of policies and guidelines related to public health and environmental health, including climate change and health programs at the national level as as coordinate Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and insect and vector control programs with partner support.   

Some notable achievements include: Coordinated the development of Graphic Health Warnings for use in the regulation of tobacco products

• Developed national climate change & health strategy 2025-2029
• Developed national climate change & health, and indoor air pollution strategies
• Developed the Kenya Rural Sanitation and Hygiene protocol
• Participated in the development of the COP28 Declaration on Climate and Health
• Participated in the planning for the distribution of insecticide-treated nets as an intervention against malaria
• Presided over the development of a digital monitoring system for rural sanitation and hygiene

• Coordinate Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) and insect and vector control programs with partner support.

• Support the County and Sub-County1/2 teams in the assigned region to sustain improved AFP surveillance indicators through,
  1. monthly mapping of poorly performing areas, 
  2. providing technical support during regional and national disease surveillance review meetings
• Support polio supplementary activities in the country (nationally). 
• Train/re-train district health teams and peripheral workers on disease surveillance and outbreak control and routine immunization
• Support counties in the development of appropriate systems for monitoring immunization service targets, disease reporting systems, and disease outbreak investigation and response.

• Ensure adherence to International Health Regulations (IHR).
• Inspection of aircraft landing at the Moi International Airport, Mombasa, and sea vessels at Kilindini Seaport 
• Sanitation activities are carried out to ensure a clean airport and seaport.
