As the Head of Commercial Operations, you will lead Business Planning Operations, Commercial Insights, Business Systems & Analytics, Salesforce Excellence and Strategic Projects across EUCAN & International.

You will also oversee China Commercial Coordination & Strategic Partnerships.

This role is instrumental in supporting business performance in the EUCAN & International region, which is set to grow from 70 markets in 2024 to up to 100 by 2030.

In this role, you will be based in the Zug office in Switzerland. The global career level for this position will be confirmed in due course (Director or Senior Director level).


Accountabilities:


As the Head of Commercial Operations, you will drive the regional P&L, ensuring countries have appropriate targets and accurate business and financial planning.

You will support markets in advancing their business needs and insights to relevant global business partners and ensure financial investment efficiency.

You will also monitor business performance across the region, focusing on the top 20 markets driving 90% of revenues and contribution.

Additionally, you will contribute to rare disease business development, including assessment of business development opportunities for ex US commercialisation deals and expansion to new markets.


  • Essential Skills/Experience:
  • A recognized and experienced Leader in biopharmaceuticals, ideally in rare diseases where patients are a priority.
  • A proven track record of success and progression in sales and marketing positions.
  • Strong knowledge of business and financial planning with experience delivering consistent P/L results.
  • Broad cultural orientation, with experience of working outside local market or in an international context.
  • Strategic problem solver in go to market models and commercialisation strategies
  • Proficiency in English and ideally additional European Languages.
  • Recent track record of successfully overseeing product launches in local market, ideally for rare or orphan disease(s); has successfully worked in a competitive environment.
  • Success in market shaping activities to establish the unmet need in a rare disease area.
  • Hands on experience with building, expanding, and enabling sales and marketing teams (eg previous General Manager roles).
  • Successful track record in building, developing and leading impactful cross functional teams.
  • Successful track record in working and delivering in a highly matrixed global environment.
  • Seasoned leader comfortable communicating and engaging across all levels in the organization, as well as maintaining calm composure, presenting and influencing at senior levels.
  • Strong Project Management skills and the ability to coordinate and drive complex change initiatives through the matrix.
