Position Summary

A Day in the Life of a Molecular Microbiologist

  • Design, execute and manage innovative research activities, utilizing genomics and classical approaches, that deliver fundamental knowledge supporting the safety and quality of Nestlé products
  • Perform microbiological risk assessments of existing and new products/processes/concepts
  • Actively contribute to Nestlé leadership in Food Safety Microbiology through active networking in international expert groups and conferences (Publication in scientific journals, talks during international conferences, etc.)

What will make you successful

  • PhD/MSc Degree in Food Science or Food Microbiology, specializing in Microbial Genomics, or a closely related field. PhD preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of professional experience in the food industry or in food safety research
  • Strong expertise in microbial genomics including bioinformatics, classical microbiological approaches and data analysis
  • Ability to work in crossdisciplinary teams and multicultural environment
  • Fluent in English with effective oral and written communication
