The Associate Director Project Management S&BE plays a pivotal strategic leadership role, overseeing and driving the execution of initiatives that span Global Quality (GQ) and Global Product Development & Supply (GPS) strategic imperatives.

This includes ensuring successful project delivery within established timelines, scope, and budget, aligning seamlessly with company, GPS, and Global Quality goals.

Collaboration across multiple functions is essential, ensuring alignment and facilitating timely decision-making.

This position entails end-to-end program management, coordinating teams, managing resources, fostering stakeholder and sponsor communications, overseeing reporting and program financial management, and tracking business value.

In addition to managing complex, cross-functional teams and workstreams, the role extends to developing and executing portfolio planning and governance processes, setting group goals, staffing, and aligning with the Strategy & Business Excellence Strategy.

The Associate Director Project Management S&BE also contributes to fostering a culture of accountability, agility, and inclusion across the Global Quality Organization, which encompasses various pillars such as the Quality OpU pillars (CT, Bio & Pharma), RDQ, PDQ, SCIM, QC/AS&T, and Corporate Quality, while ensuring comprehensive planning and optimal execution of strategic programs.

Key Responsibilities:


  • Support in the establishment of a center of excellence for Quality program management, defining best practice standards, policies, procedures, and tools for program/project governance across Global Quality (GQ).
  • Lead the Project team, adapting the operating model to align with GQ's strategic needs and maintain organizational agility within the GPS program management framework (GPSiPlan).
  • Ensure the PM team maintains strategic alignment with GQ's vision, priorities, and imperatives, collaborating with GQ Pillar strategy leads to define necessary programs.
  • Successfully deliver GQ Portfolio Planning and Process Governance, providing visibility into project portfolio status, risks, and supporting leadership team decisionmaking.
  • Participate in the GQ Strategy and Business Excellence Leadership Team and the GPS Senior Leader Network.
  • Monitor project status, escalate issues, and support corporate/GPS strategic program deployment.
  • Deploy standard Portfolio Prioritization approaches for financial planning and implement diagnostic and analysis tools.
  • Lead planning and execution of integrated, complex plans and teams, managing strategic GQ programs/projects, governance, and critical initiatives.
  • Oversee program/project activities, develop detailed plans, manage resources, and ensure problemsolving and decisionmaking addressing risks and issues.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders, drive consistency in project management tools, plan/execute change management, and influence stakeholders.
  • Proactively analyze scenarios to manage potential impacts on plans and timelines.
  • Develop and implement longterm portfolio planning strategies within GQ establish and revise policies and procedures, and drive implementation of best practices.
  • Capture, maintain, assess, and report comprehensive performance data, driving staff and team performance against objectives.
  • Coordinate with key stakeholders, create and execute change management strategies, and provide leadership and direction to project teams.
  • Lead complex, crossfunctional GQ programs, maintain strategic alignment, execute change management strategies, and foster diverse, highperforming cross functional teams.
  • Define programs necessary to deploy GQ strategy across the organization and develop strong relationships with operational and functional leadership.
  • Promote project management best practices, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Review resource needs based on input from strategic portfolio planning processes.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement within GQ and across the broader organization.

Qualifications & Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, engineering, science or related discipline; master's degree preferred.
