We currently offer the position as Research Scientist (M/F/d) in our office in Heerbrugg, Switzerland. You will be part of the R&D department and will report to Advanced Technology Manager.

The position will support the advanced technology group (ATG) in innovation and research.

He/she will be a member of the ATG and participate in and support the innovation and research activities of the team.

The work topics will be focused on innovative solutions for surgical and ophthalmic imaging systems.

Work activities include the evaluation of new technologies, construction of new research setups and devices, execution of experiments and tests, and collection of preclinical and clinical data in collaboration with external partners.


The technical focus will be on imaging spectroscopy, optical imaging, in vivo tissue imaging, ergonomics, smart control, and user experience.

He/She will work very closely with the rest of ATG team and also have cross-functional relationships with various departments within the company (Advanced Technology, R&D, Business Management) and with external partners.


Responsibilities:

Understand and analyze the problem


Explore potential solutions:
propose several solutions based on knowledge and literature


Implement chosen solution:
build setup/algorithm


Evaluate chosen solution:
document results of tests


Present solution:
internal and external presentation


Document, protect and publish results:
documentation according to company processes, patent filing, and scientific publications

Your qualifications


Education/ Studies:

Graduate Degree in physics, engineering, or relevant field
Ph.
D. in medical physics, biomedical or relevant field


Professional experience:

Experience in conducting research


Experience in any of the following fields: optical imaging (cameras), medical or biomedical imaging, multi-/hyper-spectral imaging


Languages:
English


Travel (required estimated % of the time): 20 %
