We are in search of a skilled individual to join us as the Head of QC Instrumentation. In this position, you will be leading a team of specialists in instrumentation to support the infrastructure for laboratory instrumentation and automation in a live testing setting. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring that the QC equipment at our facility in Bern, Switzerland meets the GxP requirements while being qualified and operational. Collaboration with colleagues from our sites in Europe, Australia, and the United States will be essential to enhance process efficiency and ensure compliance with regulations.

Your main responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Supervising and guiding a team of instrumentation specialists in supporting laboratory instrumentation and automation infrastructure
Ensuring that laboratory instruments and equipment are calibrated, qualified, and maintained in accordance with GxP standards
Assisting in the validation and management of lifecycle for laboratory automation systems and software applications
Staying informed on regulations and guidelines pertaining to laboratory instrumentation and computerized systems
Providing user support for QC labs on instrumentation and equipment
Representing QC in regulatory inspections related to instrumentation, automation, and equipment qualification
Establishing efficient processes for instrumentation lifecycle activities in coordination with teams at all CSL Behring manufacturing sites

Who are we looking for?

In this role, you will collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that laboratory equipment and automation systems operate in a qualified environment. Your proactive approach and decisive decision-making skills will drive progress.

The following competencies will contribute to your success:

University degree in a relevant scientific field (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, etc.)
At least 5 years of experience in a pharmaceutical/medicinal GMP testing environment with various testing instruments
Prior management and leadership experience in an operational setting
Familiarity with regulations on computerized systems and laboratory automation
Proficiency in written and verbal communication in both German and English
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team
