Postdoctoral position - integrated sensors for bioaerosols:

100%, Zurich, fixed-term:

Project background:

The research is related to development of integrated sensors for sampling and detection of bioaerosols. Bioaerosols, including airborne bacteria, viruses, fungi, and fragments of these organisms pose risks to human.

Even minute amounts of inhaled bioaerosols may cause adverse health impacts such as infectious dieses, allergic diseases, reactions to toxins or irritants.

Our group is engaged in development of various sensors targeting biological pollutants.

We are looking to consolidate developments made in sample collection, pretreatment, measurement, signal analysis and result communication, leading to integrated, user-friendly and robust sensing systems.

Job description:

The involved tasks include

To develop sampling and pretreatment methods for bioaerosols
To automate the measurement methods for biological targets
To achieve realtime data analysis and result communication
To integrate the sensing system, perform calibration and demonstrate applicability
