What's the role?:

As intern or thesis student in our department you will be part of a small fully engaged team making an important contribution in the further development and update of our global EOQ-calculation process.

Your findings/recommendations and calculations have the chance to be fully rolled out worldwide and bring our replenishment process a big step ahead.

Start date is flexible and depends on the student's availability, duration for 3-6 months

What does the role involve?:

As intern in our department you'll be part of of a project team who reviews and potentially adapts the global EOQ-calculation methods and rules.

You'll work closely with our experts to review our current EOQ-calculation setup and methods and challenge existing rules and regulations for our global EOQ-calculations for suppliers/plants and warehouses globally.

Your key responsibilities will be to describe the status-quo in regards of our existing calculation-methods and the currently implemented rules and settings.

The target should be to review especially the clustering of items and develop new rules how to cluster EOQ-relevant items in the future for our global EOQ-calculation process.

Additionally newest findings/inputs from an University point of view should be incorporated into your recommendations and new process design.

Global ownership for replenishment processes - our department is responsible for the global replenishment process for all Hilti warehouses & plants worldwide incl.

special sub-processes e.g. EOQ, network utilization, etc.

What you need is:

Enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's program in logistics and/or supply chain management for the whole internship duration
Strong analytical skills and handson mentality
Ability to work in a team and challenge existing methods/rules
Proficiency in excel is an asset
Good communication skills in English and the ability to convey your message/findings and recommendations
