Job Description:

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Providing legal support to the Sales and local Business Units across Western and Eastern Europe. Member of the MET Group Legal team, reporting to the Group General Counsel.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
-
Provide full legal support to the Chief Sales Officer (European Sales) and the subsidiary management team, including, but not limited to business development, contract drafting, legal change management, and specific projects
-
Reviewing, drafting and negotiating a range of contractual agreements with counterparties to support the subsidiary network in meeting their respective business growth strategies and objectives

Be an active supporter and driver of the
business' expansion into new territories and consolidation within existing territories, support M&A activity, due diligence reviews as well as postmerger processes and integration
Act as a
primary legal contact for the relevant sales and related business teams and provide legal advice and counselling to the various subsidiary business units on a wide variety of matters in the legal and risk domain

Leading MET subsidiaries' Legal Counsels (inhouse and external)

Monitoring legal and regulatory changes across all relevant jurisdictions, including
GDPR and
trade compliance (e.g.

REMIT) - and implement the necessary
processes and
controls:

Dealing with
contested matters and complex debt enforcement procedures in cooperation with local Legal Counsels and local law firms

Manage the relations (and budget) with a range of external legal partners (including local law firms) and demonstrate an ability to effectively oversee their services

Participate in and manage
projects and tasks requested by the Chief Sales Officer, e.g., legal aspects of EU Sales Digitalization Project in 2023

Supporting colleagues in the Group Legal team with other tasks including financing & Treasury matters, corporate and M&A files.
