    Audit and Assurance Manager with specialisation in Technology (Information and Operational) and Data Analytics to join our Group Internal Audit and Assurance (GIAA) function. We offer a unique insight into Glencore's worldwide business. Glencore's GIAA function applies innovative practices to provide assurance and advisory services to the company's stakeholders. We will also fully support you in your professional development.


You will be reporting directly to the Head of Technology/Data Assurance and Data Analytics and manage a team of IT audit and data science specialists.


Key Responsibilities- Manage technology and data related assurance and consulting engagements worldwide

  • Understand strategic and operational business activities relevant to technology and data
  • Drive and embed data analytics and innovation within the function
  • Identify and assess relevant risks and mitigating controls
  • Suggest improvements to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of business activities
  • Adhere to GIAA's methodologies and procedures to ensure delivery of quality of work and outcomes
    Detailed responsibilities
  • Involvement in assurance planning and risk assessment activities, such as the assurance universe
  • Contribute to development of the GIAA audit plan, including resource requirements and scheduling
  • Supervising, leading and delivering technology and data assurance related audit engagements:
Coordinate audit planning activities including defining objectives, scope areas, budgets, resource allocation and interactions with stakeholders

  • Prepare detailed audit work programmes considering relevant internal standards and accepted industry practices
  • Identify control gaps, determine root causes, and support the business in developing appropriate actions to mitigate those gaps
  • Oversee preparation of audit reports and communicating of results with relevant management
  • Supervising audit activities and providing timely feedback to the audit team
  • Manage the interaction with service providers (as required) in accordance with internal procedures
  • Monitoring and review of finding and management action closure
  • Coordinate, supervise and oversee delivery of data analytics and innovation to support both assuring and managing the function:
Manage delivery of the data analytics operating model, service model, products and learning academy to promote data literacy and improve team capabilities

  • Understand Glencore's diverse system and data landscape and how it supports business activities
  • Oversee the analysis and preparation of large amounts of data, sourced from diverse systems
  • Supervise design, implementation and enhancement of various data analytic products such as continuous assurance, robotic process automation, process mining and artificial intelligence
  • Present results per requirements via impactful methods and data visualisation techniques
Build key stakeholder relationships with senior management and develop a strong understanding of the technology and data used to support business activities

  • Understand current and emerging technology risks and use this knowledge to provide relevant insights
  • Contribute to enhancement of GIAA's working methods and implementation of GIAA's strategic plan
  • Provide coaching and development opportunities to upskill existing IT audit and data analytics capabilities
  • Manage internal administrative aspects for team members with a direct reporting line
  • Undertake relevant business projects, ad hoc investigations and any other reviews as required
    Qualifications and experience required
  • University degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or Computer Science
  • At least 10 years of technology (IT/OT) audit and/or advisory experience and/or data analysis related field
  • Comprehensive understanding of IT control and security frameworks (e.g., COBIT, NIST, ISO27001)
  • Audit certification (e.g., CIA, CISA, CA) is expected
  • Familiar with latest emerging technology trends and risk considerations
  • Applied knowledge in using of digital forensics tools
  • Experience ing data mining (e.g. CRISP-DM) and agile (e.g. SCRUM) methodologies
  • Experience in creating and maintain data connections and performing ETL activities
  • Proficient use of analytical tools (e.g. IDEA, Alteryx) to design data analytics workflows and visualisation software (e.g., Power BI, Tableau)
  • Experience ing top analytical techniques, such as Machine Learning, Pattern recognition, and Text analytics, amongst others, into practical and real world problems
  • Experience in the use of languages, libraries and frameworks to query and analyse data (e.g. SQL, Python, R)
  • Prior involvement in programming, developing and integrating custom software (e.g. MS Power Apps, web frame
