About the role


The MS Reinsurance Head of Change Delivery has overall accountability for planning, management and execution of the MS Reinsurance enterprise change portfolio, ensuring that the change investment/initiatives portfolio are managed and delivered to time, cost and quality in an effective way.


The role manages activities across both delivery and governance/assurance, overseeing 5-10 project managers and has direct influence over circa 50 resources (vendors, consultants/contractors, SMEs).

The role reports into the MS Reinsurance COO.


Responsibilities:


  • Responsible for implementing the MS Reinsurance Business Change objectives and corresponding portfolio of projects.
  • Set up, lead, coach and manage the Change Delivery team in MS Reinsurance, providing best practices leadership in both the agile and waterfall delivery methods as well as working closely with external vendors and with our affiliate, MS Amlin Business Services (MS ABS).
  • Coordinate and run the MS Reinsurance Change Board as a governance authority, working with MS Reinsurance Executives to plan and manage the portfolio of initiatives/activities.
  • Manage thirdparty contracts and contractors working on MS Reinsurance projects.
  • Responsible to manage the daytoday MS Reinsurance project portfolio to time, cost and quality.
  • Manage portfolio risks, issues and dependencies, including communication across the portfolio to sequence and align robust delivery.
  • Own and run the MS Reinsurance 'change framework' providing governance assurance, support and coordinate the production of cases for change and business cases, in collaboration with MS Reinsurance Executives and representatives across functions.
  • Support the project sponsors to mobilise their projects and related governance by managing the process and resourcing.
  • Motivate and align your team with Company strategy, the needed coaching and support to facilitate delivery and a positive team culture.
  • Support the projects with transition to BAU providing communication to the wider business community and embedding the change within the run organisation.
  • Annual Change budget management, and inyear project portfolio financial management / tracking against budget.
  • Provide MS Reinsurance oversight to projects that are managed centrally by MS ABS
  • Provide delivery assurance services to the MS Reinsurance project portfolio.

Profile:

We are looking for a strong business change delivery head with:

  • Significant experience of Project, Programme & Portfolio delivery methods and processes,
- incl. Portfolio shaping and structuring methods, and business case creation.
  • Experience in both agile and waterfall project delivery methods. (Re)Insurance industry knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders (across different geographies) and communicate well at all levels, delivery to suit audience.
  • Skilled in analysing, structuring, and presenting complex ideas and data, and resolving complex situations.
  • Ability to work with thirdparty consultancies/providers to deliver results.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Able to determine options, prioritise and make decisions that drive programme and organisational agenda forward, focussing on 'doing the right thing'.
  • Personal drive to achieve significant change in relatively short periods of time in teamwork environments.
  • Ability to plan effectively for self and others, capable of leading behavioural and cultural change.
  • Experience in coordinating multiple complex projects simultaneously across different locations.
  • Able to operate effectively and make decisions under a highpressure environment and react well to challenges.
  • Process, operations management, and organisational design oriented; an organiser with strong planning ability and attention to detail, and an ambition to deliver great customer service.
  • Ability to both challenge and collaborate with operational teams to deliver sustainable change, and ensure effective risk and issue management.
  • Outstanding stakeholder and relationship management skills; strong leader in virtual team settings.
  • Strong IT skills, proficient in MS Office Suite and Azure DevOps.
