Moving Spine AG (in formation) is a subsidiary of the Balgrist Association that aims to implement a breakthrough technology from the research of Balgrist University Hospital.

The newly developed surgical procedure has the potential to replace one of the most commonly performed surgeries (~8 million procedures worldwide/year), spinal fusion surgery.

First operations in the laboratory and on patients show excellent results. In this context, Balgrist has secured significant funding to turn the idea into a functioning company.

The goal of Moving Spine AG is to develop the surgical instruments and implants associated with the new technology and bring them to market in certified form.


In this context we are looking for a motivated, innovative development engineer (100%) as project manager with experience in instrument development for medical technology for "Moving Spine AG".

Your tasks:


  • Conception and design of surgical instruments
  • Team leadership in small development team (12 persons) for surgical instruments
  • Cooperation in development with the research teams of Balgrist University Hospital
  • Assistance in the conduct of clinical trials and animal studies
  • Cooperation in development with the research teams of Balgrist University Hospital

Your profile:


  • Bachelor's Degree or Master Student in Mechanical Engineering (ETH, FH)
  • A strong background in the development of surgical tools
  • Efficient, pragmatic and solutionoriented working style
  • Creative thinking skills
  • Leadership experience is desirable but not requested
