The Department of Informatics at the University of Zurich offers excellent teaching in five main areas: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Information Systems, People-Oriented Computing and Software Systems.

We are looking for one motivated colleague to strengthen our teaching team.


Your responsibilities:
With your involvement as lecturer, you teach eight contact hours per week


This includes:

  • Two first year BSc courses that will cover mathematics needed for computer science.

We currently envision the following content:

  • One MSc course on fundamentals of peopleoriented computing.
Furthermore, you can support professors in supervising student theses and projects. This offers the opportunity of combining teaching and research.


Your profile:


  • You have a doctorate in computer science, mathematics or a closely related field.
  • You have teaching experience in areas mentioned under job description.
  • You can get students excited about the courses you teach.
  • You manage didactic challenges and look for innovative solutions for teaching large classes.
  • You communicate very well in English. You are expected to teach in English. Knowledge of German is a plus.
