Director, Statistical Science

Role & Function

The Statistical Science Director provides statistical input and leadership to the scientific, clinical and regulatory strategies of projects throughout R&D and life-cycle management.

Key Responsabilites

Accountable for all statistical aspects within assigned products providing statistical, scientific and strategic expertise throughout all phases of the drug development process.
Leads the statistical thinking and contributions to the creation and delivery of the Clinical Development Plan, to the TPP and to the Regulatory and Commercial Strategies.
Accountable for the overall quality and the timely delivery of the statistical analyses for the assigned products.
Provides leadership in designing optimal and innovative studies, defining decisionmaking criterion and quantifying risks, to achieve project objectives and regulatory requirements.
Provides leadership and project coordination to all statisticians working in the project, including inhouse consultants and statisticians at CROs

Qualifications

Master of Science (MSc) or PhD in mathematics, statistics or equivalent
At least 8 years of experience as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO or similar.
Preferred: Experience of working with major regulatory submissions.

Ability to communicate statistical information to nonstatisticians

Location
The position will be based in Basel, Switzerland with home office flexibility.
