PhD position in Mathematical modelling of drug resistance evolution:

Eawag, the Swiss Federal Institute of Aquatic Science and Technology, is an internationally networked aquatic research institute within the ETH Domain (Swiss Federal Institutes of Technology).

Eawag conducts research, education and expert consulting to achieve the dual goals of meeting direct human needs for water and maintaining the function and integrity of aquatic ecosystems.

Project background:

The main objective of the project is to develop a polygenic model to investigate the mechanisms underlying drug resistance evolution, focusing in particular on ploidy, reproductive mode and lifestyle.

The target organisms will be bacteria, fungi and parasitic worms. While the position is theoretical, the student is encouraged and expected to collaborate with our experimental collaborators. More information
