Introduction:

Presentation:


In this position, you will conduct research in the field of data & analytics management and support multinational companies in their data-driven transformation.

You will be employed at HEC Lausanne and work in the Competence Center Corporate Data Quality (CC CDQ), an industry-funded research consortium and expert community.

As member of the CC CDQ research team, you will closely collaborate with Fortune 500 companies and drive the CC CDQ co-innovation activities in one of the following topics:


  • Data management for sustainability and ESG
  • Data & analytics governance and architecture (data mesh)
  • Data sharing and platforms in business ecosystems
  • Data quality using AI and automation

Job information:

Expected start date in position : Negotiable from June to September 2023

Contract length : 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years

Activity rate : 100 %


Workplace :
Lausanne, Campus of Dorigny


Your responsibilities:

- analyze the current state of research, the challenges in multinational firms as well as emerging technologies and trends;
- develop concepts, methods and tools that advance research and practice;
- present and discuss your research with practitioners in the CC CDQ workshops;
- contribute to the academic field of information systems by publishing articles in top outlets and presenting at international conferences;
- support teaching activities, student projects and Master theses.

50% of the activity rate at least will be dedicated to the realization of a research thesis. A maximum of 50% of the activity rate will be dedicated to the institution.


Your qualifications:


  • Willingness to do research in data & analytics and experience in relevant fields (e.g., business intelligence, machine learning, data architecture, data quality, data governance);
- a Master's degree in Information Systems, Industrial Engineering, Business Administration, or Computer Science;
- excellent analytical and communication skills;
- good writing skills and fluency in English; German and/or French are a plus;
- internships and/or practical experience in areas related to this position.
