PhD position in toxicology to develop alternatives to animal tests using fish

Are you excited about advancing new approach methods to reduce and eliminate the use of animals in chemical risk assessment? As part of our world-renowned research programme to establish fish cell line-based in vitro assay procedures to predict chemical impact on fish, we have an opening for a PhD student to push these frontiers with a focus on the role of habitat (temperature) and tissue
- and species sensitivity. The envisioned project is embedded in an interdisciplinary setting where you have the opportunity to employ and further develop state-of-the-art experimental approaches using fish cell lines, along with aspects of analytical chemistry and computational modelling to enable in vitro-to-in-vivo extrapolations (IVIVE).

Eawag is a modern employer and offers an excellent working environment where staff can contribute their strengths, experience and ways of thinking. We promote gender equality and are committed to staff diversity and inclusion. The compatibility of career and family is of central importance to us.
