The Role:

The Director, Environment Health & Safety (EHS) will lead the development and implementation of core technical environment, health and safety processes and standards across the Moderna organization.

In this global role, you will collaborate with the corporate and site EHS teams, and partner with the business, to ensure comprehensive EHS support is delivered and robust systems in place to effectively manage risk, ensure safety and demonstrate compliance, while driving continuous improvement and promoting cultural change.

The role reports to a member of the Global EHS Leadership Team.

Here's What You'll Do:

Support/lead the development and implementation of innovative, best-in-class and scalable core EHS programs (e.g. EHS by Design, Construction/Project Safety, Environmental Compliance, etc.) to minimize risk, reduce complexity, ensure compliance, and drive bench-mark EHS performance.

Develop technical standards and supporting tools as needed.

Foster a culture that values EHS by providing training, coaching and leadership to teams at various levels across the company.

Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise on core EHS programs to ensure the achievement of EHS objectives across the business.

Builds and maintains productive relationships with Moderna sites/locations, leaders and enabling functions to ensure EHS is appropriately prioritized and integrated into every aspect of operations.

Collaborates across functions to drive innovation, adoption of learnings and replication of best practices that enable continuous EHS performance improvement.

Here's What You'll Bring to the Table:15+ years broad EHS experience in a multi-national life sciences industry, with deep knowledge of EHS programs, laws, and regulations (including all areas of environment, health and safety),

Experience with the development, deployment, and leadership of technical safety and environmental programs

Expertise in developing clear, concise and effective procedures and standards.

Willingness to travel to sites as needed and provide hands-on support and share practices to improve performance.

Demonstrated ability to deliver solutions in a rapidly changing environment, one that is growing quickly and adapting to new/changing conditions.

Comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment with limited direction and able to pivot to adjust workload or work style based upon business needs.

Strong leadership, interpersonal and communication skills are needed in this role to drive collaboration and adoption by the various teams across the company.
