The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. For the Muon Particle Physics group we are looking for a
PhD Student*:

High‐resolution muonic X‐ray spectroscopy

Your tasks:

You will perform high‐resultion X‐ray spectroscopy of low‐Z muonic atoms with a metallic magnetic microcalorimeter.

Over the course of your PhD you will optimise and design the experimental arrangement with the help of simulations, build and setup the apparatus, take data and perform the analysis thereby experiencing a full experimental cycle.

The work will be done in collaboration with an international team.

Your profile:

Completed study in physics or closely related discipline
Experience with particle physics experiments at large facilities is a plus
Good communication skills in English
